DIT to support BrambleKids, Fil Rouge Press and SplashMaps at the first New York Rights Fair

BlogNews

I am pleased to announce that BrambleKids, Fil Rouge Press and SplashMaps® are heading to the New York Rights Fair (NYRF) to exhibit at the UK pavilion.  They will be supported by the Department for International Trade (DIT) through their Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) scheme.

The NYRF is a new book fair for the trade only, covering rights sales and distribution of content, both adult and children’s, across all formats including print, digital, audio, film and television. The NYRF is now also the official Rights Fair of BookExpo, offering the publishing industry the perfect gateway to the US publishing market and providing more opportunities than ever for rights professionals to embrace the explosion in new media and rights opportunities. This is the first year that we are taking a group of UK exhibitors to this event as part of our Book Fair Service.

BrambleKids has established a reputation as an innovative children’s content creator focusing on STEM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), literacy and phonics for young children. They aim to stimulate with new and fresh learning materials.

Fil Rouge Press is a 10-year old boutique publisher based in fashionable East London. They publish original and unusual illustrated non-fiction, including lifestyle, craft, history, memoir, gift and reference titles. They have available co-edition rights, including rights for the North American market. Titles currently on offer include thought-provoking guides to contemporary lifestyles (Work Wonders, Modern Nomads At Home), stylish yet practical craft books (Criss-Crossing New York, Stitch Atlas, Denim Refashioned, Get Weaving), nostalgic gift books (In the Doghouse), inspirational memoirs (Pilgrim Fire), and beautiful reference works (Swim the World).

The final exhibitor for the UK Pavilion is SplashMaps®, whose unique custom mapwear is designed to improve and share a love of adventure and the outdoors. Following success with rights owners in the UK, SplashMaps® is inviting US mappers to expand their offering to include fabric maps and reach a wider audience with a unique way to maximise profits from existing content. Popular products include weatherproof fabric SplashMaps® and versatile SplashMapsToobs™ (neck/ headwear).
