Work in Publishing week 2023

Press Release

The Publishers Association’s annual Work in Publishing campaign returns from Monday 20 to Friday 24 November 2023, aiming to inspire people to pursue a career in publishing.

Everyone can join in with the campaign by sharing why they #WorkInPublishing and amplifying careers information that will be shared by the Publishers Association, publishers and other partners throughout the week.

Ruth Howells, Director of Communications at the Publishers Association, said:

“Work in Publishing week is a key moment for sharing insights and experiences, as well as a platform for showcasing publishing careers content. This year we will be hearing more from the inspiring People of Publishing, highlighting the OpenBooks careers events held earlier this year and posting careers content across our social channels. We’d love people to get involved by promoting publishing careers to their audiences and highlighting accessible information about working in the publishing industry.”

Activity for this year’s Work in Publishing campaign includes:

  • Cambridge University Press & Assessment will be sharing new video content and hosting four local secondary schools at their site, where 52 students will experience a careers event.
  • Bonnier Books will be publishing fresh content and resources on their Instagram channel and hosting a speed networking event.
  • Hachette and Penguin Random House will be holding free webinars with Creative Access.
  • Springer Nature will be sharing videos with staff talking about why they work in publishing.
