The Publishers Association comments on early general election

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of her intention to call a general election Stephen Lotinga, Chief Executive of the Publishers Association, said:

“At an incredibly important time in Britain’s future it is right for the public to have a say in the direction the government takes to ensure the long-term stability the country needs. The Publishers Association will be seizing this opportunity to set out to all political parties what the future government needs to do to ensure the continuing success of the UK publishing industry through maintaining a strong IP regime, not taxing knowledge, investing in research and education and ensuring fair and competitive markets.”
