Welcome to the PA Publishing Yearbook 2016. We hope this new format will make the Yearbook even more accessible while retaining the same quality and standards that ensure it remains the definitive guide to the UK publishing industry.

Total income from physical and digital books and journals up 7% to £4.8bn
Total income from physical and digital books up 6% to £3.5bn
Exports of physical and digital books and journals up 6% to £2.6bn
Total journal income up 10% to £1.2bn
Export sales of physical and digital school books up 11% to £144m
Total sales of physical and digital children’s books up 16% to £365m

These statistics demonstrate what many of us have always known: that the UK publishing industry is a world leader and is flourishing due to the hard work and ingenuity of its superb publishing houses.
