After major global events such as Brexit, the pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, how has the UK’s publishing sector performed, particularly when it comes to exports?

The Publishers Association has been producing industry statistics for many years. In this session you will learn about some of the industry’s latest published results, alongside some more detailed unpublished data. We will look at five-year trends across publishing as a whole, and within the consumer, academic and education sectors, including:

• Which regions and countries do we export most to?

• Have these changed after Brexit, Covid, and the invasion of Ukraine?

• Which sectors are performing well?

• Which book formats are exporting best?

• Join us to find out more…

In addition, NielsenIQ will take a look in greater depth at some of the international sales of specific books published in the UK and what has recently sold particularly well. The Publishers Association’s Head of Research Susan Pinkney will talk you through the latest data, looking back over five years to see what has changed in the medium term, whilst Hazel Kenyon, Director of Book research at Nielsen HQ will look in depth at some of the titles that have sold well.
