WELCOME TO THE SECOND PA’S PR LONDON BOOK FAIR SPECIAL!

This issue will be highlighting some of the events and opportunities taking place in association with UKTI in the GREAT Business Lounge. The GREAT Business Lounge can be found on 4D21. 

The GREAT Business Lounge is also hosting a Matchmaking Programme. The matchmaking programme participants are part of a UKTI inward investment delegation and are keen to meet with UK based companies looking to export globally into their specific markets. Tuesday 14th April 2015 


9.30 – 10.10 China Business Breakfast chaired by Simon Littlewood

The morning will commence with a panel session focused on inward investment into the UK from China featuring case studies from businesses that have first-hand experience:

        Isabel Li from London & Partners, Business Development Manager for Asia Pacific team

        Terry Mankertz (IST senior sector lead for creative industries) will present the UKTI landing services presentation

 

10.10am – 10.30am An overview of doing business in China.

Joanna Dodd, is a Board Member of the China-Britain Business Council, the leading organisation helping UK companies grow and develop their business in China. It helps UK companies of all sizes and sectors, whether new entrants or established operations, access the full potential of the fastest growing market in the world. Lynette Owen, Rights Consultant gives an overview of licensing to the People’s Republic of China. 

The sessions will feature case studies from businesses that have first-hand experience.

11.30 – 12.30 Opportunities for UK Exports in the Middle East

An overview of the Middle East Book Market and opportunities for UK Publishers in trade, education and ELT

An overview of the Latin American Book Market and opportunities for UK Publishers in trade, education and ELT with Jim Papworth, itsabook and Adam Lewis, UKTI Education.

 

16.00 – 17.00 Exporting your IP

Liza Paderes, Acquisitions Manager at IPR Licence explains how British companies can interact globally to maximise copyright assets

 

17.15 – 18.00 Networking Drinks

Come to the GREAT Business Stand to meet UKTI's international network of trade and commercial officers to see how they can assist you with your export needs .

 


Wednesday 15th April 2015 


10.00 – 11.00 Mexico Business Breakfast

UK sellers and Mexican buyers are invited to a networking breakfast with Mario Alberto González Alvarez, Director for Trade & Investment, ProMexico. The breakfast will open with a presentation from a Mexican expert focussing on trade between the UK & Mexico.

 

11.30 – 12.30 Opportunities for the UK Publishing Industry at the Guadalajara Book Fair, Mexico

The UK will be the Guest of Honour at the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL) in November 2015. FIL is the one of the most important book fairs for the Latin American region, providing not only a gateway to Mexico, but the rest of central and South America. This seminar will present opportunities for the UK Publishing industry at FIL. Speakers include:

Dedicated to aligned Creative Industries, this breakfast is aimed at UK Publishers looking to establish partnerships and co- productions across media. The breakfast will open with a strategic overview of developments in the Film and Gaming sectors. The sessions will then see a facilitated networking opportunity over breakfast with the attendees.
