Following the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in April 2017, we have worked with a group of HR personnel in member companies and Creative and Cultural Skills to develop a new government approved Standard specifically for publishing in order to provide an industry standard for members to use their levy money to fund the external training of new apprentices. In March 2019, we held a workshop to equip members with everything they need to know about the new Publishing Assistant apprenticeship standard and taking on apprentices, including how bigger companies can transfer their levy money to other companies and how non-levy payers can access funding to cover training for apprentices.
