I have been in the performance improvement game for 25 years now, and the great paradox of training is as true today as when I started. Training remains “an absolutely essential luxury item”. We all agree we want it and we all know it is “a good thing” but the more we need it the less, it seems, we are prepared to afford it. When the going gets tough the training budget gets lost! But don’t worry – this is not a diatribe on shrinking training budgets!
