UK Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has provided the PA with the value of UK book exports (including re-exports) by country and area for 2011.
The USA remained the single highest destination for UK book exports with a 10% share, despite a fall of 2% in sales, followed by Germany (9%) and the Republic of Ireland (8%). Europe was still the dominant area for UK book exports in 2011 with a 45% share, followed by Asia and Oceania (21%) and North America (13%).
