Publishers cry foul over RCUK access plans

The PA's Educational, Academic and Professional Director, Graham Taylor comments on the publication of a new draft policy on open access.

The Publishers Association, which represents UK publishing companies, criticised the proposals and said it had not been consulted.

It said in a statement that "more in sadness than anger, we have little option but to oppose this policy".

"No evidence or impact assessment is offered for the effect of six-month embargoes on the large majority of articles published [in] subscription [journals].
