Antipiracy
The Publishers Association’s International Division provides an umbrella for contributing members to subscribe to anti-piracy activity in key territories around the world. Our active campaigns comprise of lobbying, PR activity and active enforcement. We work with local partners and with the support of associations such as the AAP (Association of American Publishers) and the FEP (Federation of European Publishers) as well as public bodies such as UK Trade & Investment and the General Directorate for Trade in the European Commission.
The PA currently has active campaigns in China, India, Pakistan and Turkey, and are able to provide advice and practical support to all members with IPR protection activities in other territories.
The International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) (a Washington-based lobby group representing US creative industry associations) provide piracy statistics on a worldwide basis. Their annual reports demonstrate increasing piracy losses in global markets.
