Rowling and Pullman back revolt
WalesOnline.co.uk, 14 July 2008
Best-selling authors JK Rowling and Philip Pullman are leading a revolt against plans for publishers to state at which age children should be allowed to read individual books.
The Society of Authors (SoA) and the Publishers Association are locked in a stand-off, with the SoA claiming the support of 77 per cent of children’s writers against plans to mark titles with age guidance figures.
