Simon Allen biography
Senior Vice President, International English Language Publishing Division, McGraw-Hill Education.
Since 2003 Simon has been responsible for McGraw-Hill Education’s businesses across Asia, India, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia. Based in the UK, Simon works with all higher education, professional, medical and school businesses across the region.
Prior to this Simon was managing director of McGraw-Hill Education’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Prior to joining McGraw-Hill he was President, higher education for Pearson Education Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has held other senior positions with Prentice Hall and Times Mirror International Publishers.
He began his publishing career in 1986 in the US with Mosby/Times Mirror and then Irwin/Times Mirror until 1995, when he moved back to the UK.
He is on the Board of Tata McGraw-Hill, the market leading educational publisher in India and has served on the Board of ChinaEdu, an educational services company based in Beijing. He has been elected to serve as VP/Treasurer of The Publisher’s Association in the UK in 2008, and will serve as President of this influential trade association, beginning April 2009.
Simon has a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Business Studies from Middlesex University.
