How you can support National Year of Reading
The Government is putting millions of £s behind the National Year of Reading for England and the Welsh Books Council too is backing the Year in Wales (and you can still support the NYR if you are in other parts of the UK).
You can participate and support the NYR for absolutely nothing. There's no joining fee. And there are so many benefits. So, please help promote reading. And at the same time promote the NYR and your business extensively.
All you have to do is to take all - or some - of the following simple steps. Do join up now. It will only take a few seconds.
- Register your interest with the NYR organisers. Sign up and receive information and updates by e-mail
- Make contact, if you can, with your Local NYR Reading Co-ordinator. (Click here for full contact details)
- If you are organising any event that is promoting books and reading, register your event so consumers are aware. This is a national database of reading events.
- See if you can support in some way the NYR events which have been planned to date [please see the events listing using the lnk on the left, but check the NYR website for any additions or changes]
- If you are promoting an event yourself, please try and include the NYR logo downloadable from this link on your promotional material (e.g. fliers, posters, catalogues etc). The hope is that you will place the NYR logo on as much of your publicity material as possible and that publishers too will place the logo on the books themselves. (NB You have to ensure that the use of the logo does not look as if it is specifically endorsing the product)
