National Year of Reading

The National Year of Reading (NYR) will have its public launch in April 2008 and there will be a series of events between April and December 2008.  Both the Publishers Association and the Booksellers Association have pledged their support.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) is the sponsoring government department. In August 2007  DCSF announced that the National Literacy Trust and partners had won a tender to manage the NYR project and co-orinate activities.
