  2. I would like a job in publishing, where is the best place to look?

    Vacancies in book publishing are advertised in the Guardian, Independent, the Times and  the Telegraph newspapers, in addition to the weekly trade journals such as The Bookseller, and Publishing News, which are available in most public libraries or online.


  3. I would like to become a proofreader; can you recommend any courses?

    The Publishing Training Centre offers over 70 courses, many of which run several times a year. In addition, PTC has three distance learning courses: Basic Proofreading, Basic Editing and Effective Copywriting. Visit the website for more information.
    The Society of Editors and Proofreaders also offer an array of courses in publishing.
