There are nine £1.00 children's books for World Book Day 2008, for ages 2+ to 11+. For the list see
The selection of £1.00 books each year is made jointly by booksellers and publishers, at least 12 months in advance. The authors of these books are a major focus for PR and publicity around World Book Day.
A further 20 titles are selected each year from a longlist submitted by publishers, as the focus of activities in the World Book Day schools pack. This pack goes to all schools of all types in the UK and Ireland. Titles for 2008 will be announced at the end of September 2007.
Publishers are also invited to provide posters for inclusion in the schools pack, for which they pay an insertion charge. See
