Who we are

All children's publishers within the PA are invited to join the Children’s Book Group. The group is steered by an executive committee which meets 10 times a year and runs occasional seminars and open meetings.

We work with other parts of the book trade and with the education and library sectors to promote children’s books and reading. An important function of the group is to contribute to an improved understanding of the size and shape of the children's book market, including sales to schools.  Full implementation of the BIC-approved Children's Books Marketing Codes remains a priority for the group.

We also run a number of joint promotions of children's books and advise on  the children's books element of World Book Day. The group is regularly consulted on initiatives such as Booked Up and the National Year of Reading.
