Who we are

All children's publishers within the PA are invited to join the Children’s Book Group. The group is steered by an executive committee which meets 10 times a year and runs occasional seminars and open meetings.

We work with other parts of the book trade and with the education and library sectors to promote children’s books and reading. We also run a number of joint promotions of children's books and advise on  the children's books element of World Book Day.  The group also consults regularly on initiatives such as the Children's Laureate, Booked Up ,  and Children's Reading Partners

An important function of the group is to contribute to an improved understanding of the size and shape of the children's book market, including sales to schools.  The group are keen to support wider use of the Children's Book Marketing Codes classification scheme, developed in partnership with Nielsen..
