PA environmental awareness policy

Business has a key role to play in supporting the global drive towards maintaining a healthy environment through sustainable consumption and production. It is the PA's policy to encourage awareness of the potential impact of the production and distribution process on the environment at all levels and the responsible use of resources.

Members are encouraged, wherever reasonable and practicable:

  • to seek to achieve sound environmental management of processes and products
  • to have regard for the pollution prevention guidelines produced by the Environment Agency for England & Wales, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the Environment and Heritage Service in Northern Ireland
  •  to ensure, through their printers, that paper used comes from reputable managed forests
    to comply, where required, with the Packaging (Essential Requirements) Regulations and the Packaging Waste Regulations
  • to seek to ensure all waste is stored and disposed of responsibly.
